Confed. cup and The Notebook

Confederations Cup (I was right, Brazil won :) and after that "The Notebook". God, I love that movie. After seeing Pearl Harbour and Titanic I never thought they could make an even better movie. I was wrong. I must have seen "The Notebook" a thousand times and it still makes me cry. In my opinion it´s the most beautiful lovestory...forget Romeo and Juliet! And the actors Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling are just amazing together.
And as always a movie gets even better if you have the right things next to you, like a really delicious plate of fruits and berries and maybe a piece of chocolate ;)
Sounds molto bene!

Portoroz by night

Yeah, yeah...so I had to "steel" these photos because my own camera is on the verge of "decomposing" and I can´t make any good photos with it when it´s dark. Thought you wanted to see how Portoroz looks by night!

Fiesa

Remember the beach Fiesa I told you about? Where you can find me during summers in Portoroz (which is btw. from May to Oktober). Well here´s another photo of one of my favourite places in the world. When I´ll be going back to Slovenia in the end of August this will be my first stop...possibly directly from the airport to Fiesa...no, no, just kidding...I think...

I know it may not seem this way on the photo but there is a great beach below the shrubbery.

Homemade Pizza

I love to cook and guess what, I made pizza yesterday. It was the first time in my life I made it. In our family my mum is the "pizza-God" (I´m not joking, her pizzas are heavenly, the best ones I ever eaten! And when I´m in Slovenia my nona (grandmother in Italian) makes it or we go out to eat pizza). Anyhow yesterday it was my time to shine and that I did! Look for yourselves.
Oh, and I forget to tell you. It´s an old secret-family-recipe and it´s pretty complicated but I think I did well!

Back in Sweden...

Back home in Sweden. Feels pretty good actually! 33 degrees in the sun! The other members of my family are in our second home in Portoroz, Slovenia...except for my brother, he´s here in Sweden as well. So it´s he, our dog and me alone in the house for the next six weeks! Now, that feels really good.
My plans for the summer: work and just chillin´ the other days :)

Had my fair share of hot summer on fun during June in Portoroz, so I´ll post some photos from then later on.
Ok, it´s time to make my "strawberry-plate", grab a good book and head out to the garden.
Don´t miss Confederations Cup tonight. Brazil vs. USA.

Postojnska Jama

This is a wonderful cave in the south of Slovenia, in Postojna and a really big tourist-attraction. I´m sorry that I had to "steal" these photos from "Postojnska Jama´s" homepage but it is the only way I can show you guys how it is inside the cave. My own photos are unfortunately to dark for you to recognize anything at all.

This little creature is called "Human fish" (Proteus anguinus). Don´t worry, they don´t eat human beigns. Their skin is like our skin and that´s the reason they got this name.

3 fruits

There are a few fruits which actually function as tooth-paste and can make your teeth whiter. And fortunately for us they can be bought in every grocery-store. This means you don´t have to cross oceans, climb mountains or fight eager-for-battle-local-population in the tropics to get to the one-of-a-kind-fruit.
No, no these fruits are: apples, strawberries and pineapple.

Glad Midsommar!

"Midsommar" is one of the most important holidays of the year in Sweden, and probably the most uniquely Swedish in the way it is celebrated. The main celebrations take place on Friday, and the traditional events include raising and dancing around a huge maypole. Before the maypole is raised, greens and flowers are collected and used to cover the entire pole. Raising and dancing around a maypole (majstång or midsommarstång) is an activity that attracts families and many others. People dancing around the pole listen to traditional music and many wear traditional folk costumes. The year's first potatoes, pickled herring, sour cream, and possibly the first strawberries of the season are on the menu.

Because Midsummer was thought to be one of the times of the year when magic was strongest, it was considered a good night to perform rituals to look into the future. Traditionally, young people pick bouquets of seven or nine different flowers and put them under their pillow in the hope of dreaming about their future spouse.
In modern Sweden, Midsummer's Eve and Midsummer's Day (Midsommarafton and Midsommardagen) were formerly celebrated on 23 June and 24 June but since 1953 the celebration has been moved to the Friday and Saturday between 19 June and 26 June.
Glad midsommar på er! :)

My 7 tips for a fresher skin on planes

We all know how it is before boarding an airplane. In what condition our skin is after a long flight. But no worries. As always there are things you can do before, during and after a flight to help your skin stay smooth, clean and help it breathe even in that annoying air on an airplane. Of course, you may still feel that your skin is "sticky" but I guess you just have to endure it and make the best out of all of this.
These are my tips that work for me:
1) Before boarding a plane put on a facial-mask full of healthy vitamins and minerals.
2) Then use a really good moisturazing-cream that lets your skin breathe.
3) If it´s possible and you don´t have any problems with it, try to not have any make-up on during your air-journey.
4) Drink a lot of water. Before and after. Order water on the plane instead of juices, alcohol or softdrinks. Your skin will be grateful.
5) Bring along (if you permitted to do so) or buy in the airports duty-free shop a bottle of facial-water you spray on your face for a fresher feeling during the journey.
6) When you land and you are in your hotel or at home clean your face very carefully + moisturazing-cream.
7) And yet again, the most important thing for your skin: drink water, drink water and finally drink water!
Have a nice flight!

Guess...

...what´s just around the corner...or a couple of months away?...my BIRTHDAY!

Here are some suggestions for you what would make me happy that day (apart from your presence of course ;)

After the summer...

Ok, so I know it´s summer but there´s nothing wrong with making plans for your autumn warderobe, right?

Bernardin

I just have to show you this photo (again) my cousin and I took last week when we took an evening-walk by the sea from Bernardin to Piran.

Going out?

Mother´s Day

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be...
Mother's Day is a time of commemoration and celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and crayon scribbled "I Love You's."

Love you, Mummy! :)
