I just have to show you this photo (again) my cousin and I took last week when we took an evening-walk by the sea from Bernardin to Piran.

Going out?

Mother´s Day

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be...
Mother's Day is a time of commemoration and celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and crayon scribbled "I Love You's."

Love you, Mummy! :)

Chocolate

While chocolate is regularly eaten for pleasure, there are potential beneficial health effects of eating chocolate. Cocoa or dark chocolate benefits the circulatory system.
A study reported by the BBC indicated that melting chocolate in one's mouth produced an increase in brain activity and heart rate that was more intense than that associated with passionate kissing, and also lasted four times as long after the activity had ended.
So go on and eat chocolate!

Swarovski

Swarovski is the luxury brand name for the range of precision-cut lead crystal glass and related products produced by Swarovski AG of Wattens, Austria. My favourites are the "crystal-brids". I simply can´t help myself no to stare as one bewitched at these everytime I pass a Swarovski-boutique.

I miss NYC...

...there are no words to describe how I feel about New York. It´s without any dobuts the greatest city in the world!

Ljubljana

Just a couple of days left and then I´ll be back in Slovenia. I have pretty much to do at the univeristy in Ljubljana so I'll be seeing my beloved Portoroz in June... But no worries, Ljubljana is great...shopping, coffeshops, parks...I think I´ll survive!

Ljubljana, where I study and where I was born (moved to Sweden, to the town my father grew up in when I was two months old)

Homemade Facial Masks

Banana, Honey and Yogurt Facial Mask.
This facial mask tastes as good as it works.

  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Mash the banana with a fork then mix in honey and yogurt. Apply to your face evenly. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water or soft wash cloth

  • Avocado Facial Mask
This is one of those masks that leave your skin very soft to touch.
    * 1/2 Avocado

Mash avocado and apply evenly to your face. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water or soft wash cloth.

    Lemon Tomato Mask
Use this on oily skin. The acid in the tomato and lemon work on acne and blackheads.

  • 1 over-ripe tomato; inside scooped and mashed
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp instant oatmeal
Puree all ingredients in a blender. Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

  • Soothing Strawberry Scrub

Use this on normal or combination skin. The strawberry seeds exfloiate old skin while the yogurt sooths.

  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt; chilled
  • 3-4 strawberries; mashed

Stir ingredients together. Apply to freshly cleaned face and gently massage strawberry misxture to exfloiate. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

  •
    Peachy Facial Mask
Perfect for a summertime refreshing skin care day.

  • 1 soft medium peach; fork mashed
  • 1 tablespoons honey
  • oatmeal

Mix ingredients together. Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

  • Try also facial masks from Nivea.
Or Neanae Red Ginseng Yellow Earth Facial Mask. A perfect gift set!

Refreshing walk with a dear friend!

One of my friends, Sara and I took a bracing walk in our hometown in Sweden. As you can see it was sunny and warm...the summer is just around the corner even for Sweden.

    Split ends...we do hate them!

"Summer calling" and "Beautiful Things" by Andain rule in my Ipod right now. These songs are really hypnotic!
But now to something more important. Split ends!!!

Make your own hair mask: egg yolk, olive oil, (natural yoghurt), (honey). Mix and apply!

    * Get your hair trimmed regularly, meaning every six to eight weeks. All hair gets damaged after a while. It will remove split ends and keep your hair healthy and growing strong.

    * Avoid products that claim to "heal" split ends. They will only temporarily glue split ends together. They may help prevent messy hair, but they will cause more damage farther down the road.
    * Protect your hair before swimming. Be sure to rinse and shampoo your hair as soon as possible after swimming.

    * Many people don't realize just how fragile the ends of hair are. Being too rough with a brush or comb, or brushing or combing too often can damage your hair. If you have thicker hair you may need to use a pick or wide-toothed comb. Combs in general are more gentle and don´t forget: never over brush!!! Comb the hair gently. Start at the bottom and work your way up.

    * Protect your hair from the Sun. Ultraviolet rays can be as damaging to your hair as your skin. Look for conditioners that contain sunscreen or mix sunscreen and conditioner together and leave that in your hair.
    * Wash your hair properly. It is best to only wash the scalp hair and leave the length to hang down your back...the length should not be piled on top of your head. When you rinse the shampoo out of your hair, the shampoo will run down the length anyway, that is as much washing as the ends of your hair need!
    * Conditioner should then be applied to the length to soak for a while before rinsing out. Hot water strips away moisture so rinse your hair with the coolest water you can stand.
    * It´s best to let your hair air dry naturally.
This is want you´ll be needing:

  • Wide-toothed comb
  • Leave in conditioner or hair detangler
  • Regular hair trims
  • Conditioner
  • Weekly hair mask

  • Thank you Studio Laura in Ljubljana for these tips.
I and my hair will see you again next week :)

To beautiful to even look at...

Many of you wanted me to post a photo of Robert Pattinson . Well, here you go!
    Hope I´ve made your day!

I totally agree, you can´t stop looking at him!

    Mountain climbing

I came across these "ancient" photos from when my family and I were in the mountains in Slovenia (the Alps) a couple of years ago. I´m the type of girl who loves mountain climbing (my family and I go a few times every summer) not because of the walking itself but due to the view! But then again who doesn´t go mountain climbing/walking because of the view?

Saying these views are spectacular and astonishing would be an immense understatment!

    Venice, september 08

So, my two friends and I took a trip to Venice for my birthday last year. We had a great time, strolled around Venice, ate real Italian pizza, bought Venetian ceramic-masks, took a  classical Venetian gondola-ride, explored all the main attractions, I even bought a Gucci-bag...well, it was my birthday!
Even though this was not my first trip to this amazing town there´s always a special feeling when you come back to Venice...you forget how breathtaking and crowded it really is!

This guy was like showing me how to drive that thing in case he would drown or something...well not really!
    Love his outfit, btw!

Piran, the medieval town in Slovenia

Piran (Italian: Pirano) is a town and municipality in southwestern Slovenia on the Adriatic coast on the Gulf of Piran.
The Piran peninsula was incorporated into the Roman Empire in 178 and 177 B.C.
It is full of Italian charm. Venice is only 1.5hrs away, and the lights from Venice can be seen on a clear night. The whole town is one big attraction as this lazy fishing village has not changed much in 400 years. The cobble stone streets are so narrow that two people must walk single file.
Here`s where my grandmother and my mother were born and raised. They moved to Portoroz (the neighboor town) when my mother was ten years old.

    It´s summer...

...I can feel it in the air...only a few weeks left... :) Meanwhile I´ll look at my photos from my "vacation" in (my hometown) Portoroz and Venice, Italy with two friends of mine from Sweden who visited me in september. I´ll upload photos from Venice as soon as possible :)
