The cashewnut

The cashew nut is a popular snack and its rich flavor means that it is often eaten on its own, lightly salted or sugared.
A popular alternative (at least in my family) is to add them to salads with tomatoes, lettuce, cucumber, corn and some kind of cheese. Try also fried rice with cod- or chicken fillet and vegetables or/and roasted cashewnuts in maple syrup.
In Brazil, the cashew fruit juice is very popular and can be found all across the country!
Cashew nuts are also a less frequent allergen than other nuts or peanuts but are not common in candy due to higher price compared to peanuts and almonds, except from higher quality manufacturers.
